Next Tuesday, I have my first exam out of five and everything is now becoming very real and very stressful. My first exam is in fact a re-sit of a paper from last year that I didn't do so well on so, that amps up the pressure a little bit. 

1. PRIORITISE

I cannot stress (get it? stress??) enough how important it is to prioritise your revision and time. For example, my last exam is A2 Unit 4 Geography and that is the subject I am revising for the least at the moment, as its not for another month. The exams I am revising for the most are my AS Unit 1 Geography and A2 Unit 3 Geography exams because they're my first two. The means I can devote my time to those units first and not be revising something that I don't need for another month.

2. EAT WELL

They say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day and they're right! Recently, I've been making granola and fruit bowls and they really fill me up in the morning and keep me going until lunch (I'll upload a recipie for them soon). Also, eat before your exam. It'll help you concentrate better and stop your belly from rumbling midway through.

3. REVISE WHENEVER YOU CAN

With revision, firstly find a method that works for you. Whether that's mind maps, flash cards or just reading through, whatever suits you (for me, it's making mind maps and covering every inch of my bedroom wall in them)! Then, whenever you have some free time, do revision. I have a couple of free periods a week at college and instead of aimlessly roaming around town, I'll sit in a classroom or study area and do revision. Doing it at school/college also means you won't have to do it at home!

4. TAKE BREAKS

Revising for three hours straight is never a good idea. Every so often, your brain needs to take a break!! I'd suggest that every hour, take a five or ten minute break to have a stretch, go through Twitter or update your Facebook status. It gives you brain a rest and gives you a little reward to work towards each hour.

As the weather is starting to get better, I'm feeling more positive about everything in general. To help me maintain this positive outlook, I've decided that every so often, I'd do a little post that lists five good things that happened that week.

1. I was able to wear one of my favourite summer tops because it was actually warm for once:)

2. On my walk to the bus stop, there's this little alleyway I have to walk down which goes round the back of some gardens. When I walked down there on Thursday, someone's little dog followed me as I walked all down the back of its garden. Very cute!

3. I made a new playlist on Spotify and I found a bunch of old songs I forgot I loved. And discovered some new favourites.

4. I bought a new eyeliner ('Supercat' by Soap & Glory) it is was the best makeup investment I've made in a long time! Perfect flicks everytime and a really bold colour. 

5. My new 'Kitties' phone case from Polly (sighh designs) arrived and I'm in love with it! I had one from her aaaaaages ago but I got a new phone so I needed a new case. Definitely going to be making a big order from her soon:)

I've never done a 'Face of The Day' post so today I thought that I'd give it a go, I've done OOTD posts (which you can see here) before and decided to change it up a little bit!

As of now, I am finally on the last leg of my journey to university. Last week I completed the finance and accommodation applications and am waiting for them to be confirmed. 

Student finance is such a controversial topic right now because of the way it works. There is a £9,000 loan (per education year) which pays for the course itself you are studying. On top of this, and depending where you are studying, you may get another maintenance loan, which should cover living expenses. The amount you get for this also depends on your current household income. The lower your total household income, the more you'd recover for a maintenance loan. 

As well as this, there's the matter of paying it back. I've heard a lot of stories about people being worried about paying it back and 'being in debt for the rest of their life'. However, this isn't the case. You will ONLY start paying the loan back when you are earning a certain about of money a year (I believe it's around £21,000-ish). Also, if you move and end up living abroad, your debt will be WIPED if you live there for 5 years! After knowing the facts about finance and loans, it doesn't sound all as bad.

Now for accommodation. Personally, I'll be living in London so already my living costs have gone up just because I'll be there. For the campus I'll be on (University of Westminster, Harrow) there are two choices of accommodation. There is one right on campus and there is another about 15 minutes away. There is also two different types of halls; standard and 'luxury'. To be honest, when I visited the university there wasn't that much difference between the two. One just had a little bit more security, a slightly bigger kitchen and another flatmate (7 rather than 6). The standard accommodation (the one I'll more than likely receive) will cost me £160 a week whilst the 'luxury' will cost £170. There isn't that much difference in the price either. 

With student accommodation, they prioritize students who are coming to study from abroad and those who live further away from campus. For example, those who live in the Harrow and surrounding area are less likely to recover accommodation than someone who lives 2 hours away. Bearing this in mind, I should be okay. In my second year of study, I should be moving out of halls and living in a flat somewhere nearby. But, we'll see what happens with that when the time comes.

All I have to do now is wait. And get the grades. 

On the first of April, I officially became an adult and turned eighteen years old! I had various get together-s with friends and family over the week which was so lovely and through that week I received some really incredible gifts. Today I thought that I would share some of them with you all!

*DISCLAIMER: I have to do this bit because some people get weird about it so, I'm in no way trying to brag about what I got, all gifts were given to me out of people's kindness. If you don't like these kind of posts, don't continue to read!*  

One gift that I'd like to start this post with is from my parents. They bought me a absolutely gorgeous diamond necklace (diamond because it's my birthstone). It is so dainty and delicate and definitely my kind of jewellery. Typically, I've been wearing it with another necklace I previously got from my parents and the compliment each other perfectly and look so pretty together!

Another piece of jewellery that I got was from my Aunt and Grandparents and it is a very sparkly ring from Pandora. It has a little daisy on it and I've been wearing it on my middle finger. Again, it is so so pretty and I really love to wear it! Also, I got some very sentimental gifts from my grandparents which you can read a little more about here..

Next, I got a massive bag of lovely little gifts from my two very close friends Hannah and Caitlin. Firstly, I got a bottle of wine from them both which was very fancy. I also received a Tsum Tsum of Stitch to go along with my one of Thumper that I got in Disney. As well, there was a Pop! vinyl figure of Maximus (the horse from Tangled) to go with my one of Bambi. On top of this, I also got a blackboard-type wall sticker and a bunch of fun egg-shaped chalks to use on it which I thought was fa (we all then a spent a good 45 minutes drawing on it)! Finally, I got a novelty unicorn shaped pen which again I though was hilarious and a tiara which is clearly made for a child because it doesn't fit my head, haha!! Then, I got a very stylish necklace from my friend Bryony which is of the golden snitch from Harry Potter. I really love wearing this, plus it shows off my love for the films in a very cool way. 

All in all, I had such a fantastic birthday and I'd like to thank everyone who made it memorable and for all the great gifts I received over the course of the week - thankyou!

As most of you know, I write for the website Pretty52 and have been with them since last June. Although, myself and the other writers have never met each other in person, we've only communicated through email and various Facebook pages. 

Pretty52 are part of TheLADBible group and their offices are up in Manchester so we made a little trip up there Friday afternoon ready for the meeting on Saturday. Now unluckily, I fell ill on the Thursday evening and felt awful by the Saturday. In the end, I only stayed at the offices for a few hours BUT I did have a fab time whilst I was there. It was so lovely to see the offices (which are amazing) and finally meet everyone properly. I arrived at 10 in the morning and stayed until about 1. 

When we first arrived it was a little awkward purely because we didn't know each other but that quickly went away as we all started talking and had had a glass of prosecco. We then played a little game of 'Two Truths and a Lie' which was kindly run by Jade and was completely hilarious. Some of the guys have done some really great things. Rebecca had been on 'Pointless' and won with her mum! We had also received some free smoothies from the Boost Juice Bar which were delicious. Mine was mango and so so good, although I was able to finish it because it was such a large cup!

After this, we moved from the office space downstairs to the combined offices a couple of floors up. Here, Clara and Jade the two girls who mainly run Pretty52 gave a presentation about where the brand came from and how they got involved. They then we on to talk about what elements make a good article for the site and and gave us some pointers on how to become verified writers for the site. 

 I left soon after this as I really wasn't feeling well and didn't want to infect everyone else with what I had! I am on the mend now and should be fully better by the end of the week. I had a really fab time at the review day and am so happy that I went, even if it was for just a few hours! You can check out the website here, it's just been done up and look fantastic!

This Friday I'm finally turning eighteen years old and yesterday, we held a party at my house to celebrate. There was around 60 people in total including various family and friends who were lovely to see and catch up with. Some people lived locally and others lived in Sussex and it was so nice of everyone to travel up and say hi! It started at two o'clock in the afternoon and continued until about half twelve at night (a super long day, I know!). 

I received a few gifts yesterday, most of which involved a bottle of something which I'm very grateful for, but there are two in particular I wanted to talk about. One was from my Grandmother. She gave me two wedding rings which she had held onto, one of which belonging to my Dad's Great Grandmother and the other belonging to his Grandmother. These clearly meant a lot to her and it was extremely kind of her to pass these on to me. The other gift(s) was from my Grandfather. As most people know, I have a record player. My Grandfather has a massive collection of records and really loves his music which plays a huge part in his life. Yesterday, he gave me a select few from his collection, which included some Stevie Wonder and The Beatles, and (again) I'm super grateful for these as I know how much they mean to him. He also gave me a plaque which says 'If you really want to catch your dreams, you have to chase them'. He believes very strongly in this and just wanted to give me something to remind me of it. 

There were two other parts of the day that I thought were especially nice. Firstly, my Mum had bought a 'Wish Jar'. The idea of this is that people would write on a little piece of paper a little 'good wish' message for me and place it in the jar. It accumulated over the day and at the end was really lovely to read through them all. Some were ridiculously thoughtful and pleasant to read. The other part of the day which I really liked was the 'Picture Post Box'. When I was first born I had a 'naming ceremony' and during this my Mum and Dad asked people to bring along the most recent photo of themselves so that I could look back and see who came on that day. So, they decided to do the same thing for my eighteenth. People bought photos of themselves and some had a little message on the back. I really loved this idea and it's lovely to have photos of everyone to remember. 

I really did have a fantastic day and want to say a quick thankyou to everyone who came along and also to my parents for organising the whole thing. I had a really fab day and it was great to see everyone together. 

This year I would have been blogging for three years and over this time I have learnt various different little tips and tricks that have helped me along the way. I thought that today I'd share with you all some of those and perhaps even inspire some budding bloggers that are out there!

4. Stats aren't everything - If they're high, that's great! If they're low, then that's okay too. It doesn't matter as long as you enjoy what you do and have a passion for it.

5. Don't give up - To begin with, it may seem like there's not point in writing a blog or every starting one up and to begin with, it is difficult. But, hey, look at me for example, it's taken me nearly three years to get to where I am and even at times where I felt like giving up, I didn't!

6. Write as often as you can - Try to be consistent with your uploading. It's taken me a while but I've finally come up with a good uploading schedule and have managed to keep it up so far. Having a good schedule does make a huge difference!

7. Get inspired regularly - Always be on the lookout for good stories. I have a notes page open on my phone where I have a long old list of posts I want to write and upload. In fact, this post was on that list!

Last Saturday, myself and some 20-odd film and media students made away from little old Hampshire, England to Paris, France. We were going to watch a media-based conference with a number of guest speakers whilst staying in Disneyland Paris. We then made a hell-ish journey home on the following Wednesday (more on that in a bit).

We were in Disney by about 5:30 Paris time and spent the evening looking around the park and getting some space themed food in the Buzz Lightyear kinda area. The Sunday was the day where we got to go around the two parks ourselves (Disneyland & Walt Disney Studios) and go on some rides. I went on a couple but me not really being a fan of rollercoasters didn't go on THAT many. And before you all ask, no, I didn't go on Space Mountain. Sorry. Although, we had a awesome lunch at one of the buffets. All-you-can-eat for €30-ish Euros was a definite yes!! In the evening, we grabbed a quick bite to eat and then watched the fireworks which were in one word; amazing!! They were super pretty and the little story they had along with it was adorable! We ended up watching them twice during our visit and managed to get a closer and better view the second time around.

Monday was when we attended the conference which was actually really interesting! I wasn't too sure what it would be like as I've never been to one before but, there was David Garrido from Sky Sports, Lucy Brett from the BBFC (the certificate rating people) and Tim Samuels, a documentary director/producer who had some amazing stories to tell. He also created a rock band from a group of elderly people who were called 'The Zimmers', which you can check out here! I thought that the conference was really interesting and it gave us all a insight into each of the roles and the media industry as a whole. In the evening, we just headed back to the hotel we were staying in and played some games and ate there.


On the Tuesday, we headed into Paris itself and saw a number of iconic places and some film locations.  Firstly, we saw the Moulin Rouge which was incredible to see in real life! It's so iconic and it can be spotted from a mile off. We also saw the most expense street to live on in Paris which was just beautiful and understandable as to why it was so expensive. As well we saw the statue of Marcel Ayme, a famous French writer, where it looks like he is stepping out of the wall. There was the bridge from Inception as well and of course, The Eiffel Tower which was just incredible. Although, there was a three hour wait to use the lift to go up it. I decided not to. Despite the fact that it was only 2 degrees, we also bought ice-cream and sat in the cold sunshine. As well, because this was our last night, 14 of us went and watched the fireworks all together one last time and then went and had a great meal at Planet Hollywood. We had the best waiter as well (you're awesome Rudy)!

Finally, on the Wednesday, we travelled home. Although, this was an absolute nightmare in itself. To start with, there was a strike, so we switched our tickets from sometime in the morning to 1o'clock in the afternoon. However, the tickets were not confirmed in France so they were re-sold. We then got new tickets for the 4o'clock Eurostar and had to wait 3 hours for that. To pass the time, there was a piano in the station and one of our students Joe played some Adele and Coldplay on it. And absolutely nailed it!

After a 2 and a half train ride back to St Pancras, we got the tube. The plan was the go from St pancreas to Leicester Square then change and head to Waterloo. But, somehow between St Pancras and Leicester Square, we managed to lose 5 people. We got off at Leicester Square and waited thinking that they would turn up there. After half an hour of waiting and tube-chasing (one of our lecturers went on about 6 different tubes to find them) it turned out that they were at Waterloo the whole time. The journey home was a bit of a mess but, we all got home in the end although we were all extremely tired.

I've been wearing outfits a lot more like this recently so, I've decided to share with you all one of my personal favourites and what I wore today!

This Saturday I'm going to Disneyland Paris with my college for the 'Media Live!' conference and to have a look at some film locations in Paris. I'm super excited to go and started to pack the other day so, I thought that I'd give you all a little insight into what I am going to take with me!
