Oh God, it Gets Better

I'm thinking of trying something new. Of course in this blog I want to continue with the lifestyle writing and reviews etc but I also want to start to share my creative work.
I'm a creative writing student and aspiring writer/journalist. I thought that this would be a good step to take so here is my poem 'Oh God, it Gets Better'...
Honestly,
life sucks
and then it gets better
and then it sucks again
but
that’s all part of it
you have to keep moving
no matter what
may block your way
or try to stop you
or what keeps you awake at night
you keep moving forward
don’t worry about
that test you failed at thirteen
the boy who broke your heart at seventeen
or the uni you didn’t get into at nineteen
because
you’re still alive
you’re breathing
you have enough words in your mouth to talk
your body has the power to make you move and
get you out of bed
and
survive another day
on this earth.
don’t be afraid
to aim for the top
reach for the stars
and achieve
what you want to achieve
express yourself
be brave
oh god I dare you to
just be brave
dye your hair blue
fall in love
fall out of love
travel the whole world
or as much of it as you can
you will make it through today
and
you will make it through tomorrow
