I was thinking today about all the different traditions and theories about Christmas around the world. I had a little look online and found some pretty cool facts so I've decided to share them with you today!
1. Norwegian scientists have a theory that Rudolph’s red nose is
probably the result of a infection of his respiratory system.
2. According to the Guinness world records, the tallest Christmas tree ever
cut was a 221-foot Douglas fir.
3. Alabama was the first state in the United States to officially recognize
Christmas in 1836.
4. The chances of a white Christmas are just 1 in 10 for England and Wales, and 1 in 6 for Scotland and Northern Ireland.
5. The largest Christmas cracker was 45.72m long and 3.04m in diameter.
6. The Beatles hold the record for most Christmas number one singles, topping the charts in 1963, 65 and 67.
7. There are 364 gifts mentioned in “The Twelve Days of Christmas”.
8. Christmas Eve in Japan is a good day to eat fried chicken and strawberry shortcake.
9. Apparently you should eat one mince pie a day during the twelve days of Christmas for good luck.
10. Santa would have to visit 822 houses a second to make all of his deliveries on time.
