Liquid Gold & Chocolate Ganache

Hellooo!
Last week I was invited by the lovely people from LUSH Basingstoke to attend their first blogger's event and yesterday was the day. They showed us some of the new summer products and even taught us how to make one of their world famous bath bombs! I had tons of fun and thought that I'd give you a run-down of the evening...
In total, there were seven bloggers (including myself) from various different places with different styles of blogs, however, one thing that we all had in common was that we are all passionate about LUSH! Two members of staff, Ryan and Zoe, ran the evening and did a brilliant job of telling us about the products and making the night so fun and actually easier for us all I think. This was the first blogger's event I have ever attended so I was very nervous! However, thanks to the other lovely bloggers and Ryan and Zoe, I felt very relaxed and welcomed.
At the end of the night we got given a goodie bag filled with new and old products (we were even given some gift sets left from Easter)! So here is what we got and a little bit about LUSH.

The first product we got was the Sea Salt Spray which gives your hair a tosselled, beach wave look and smells absolutely amazing!  It also contains Neroli Oil which is a essential oil that makes you happy, I can see that I will be using this a lot! To use this product you basically spray it into your hair, it works best when you spray it into braided hair, tip your head upside down and spray some more, essentially rubbing it in tip your head back and there you have it! Big, wave-y beach hair which looks brilliant! I used it today and this is how my hair turned out - even bigger than usual!!!

The next product which we were introduced to, and made, was the Big Blue bath bomb! This has a similar scent to the Sea Spray and contains sea salt which is good for exfoliating quickly whilst in the bath. It's bright blue and contains dry seaweed which expands and acts as a moisturizer in the bath. We were also shown the bubble bar Sunnyside which compliments the Big Blue bath bomb as it has a sweeter scent. This bubble bar is extremely glittery although, it is a natural glitter which is created from seaweed rather than a synthetic, which means that it is way less harmful to fish and sea life once it has washed down your bath drain. Also, it looks like liquid gold in your bath, SO PRETTY.

We got the chance to make our own Big Blue bath bomb which was tons of fun! We pretty much mixed the ingredients together, like making a cake, and molded them into the casing, topping it with sea salt (god it does sound like we made it cake doesn't it??). Ryan also let us into a secret that we can re-use any of the casing from the bath bombs to make chocolate ganache, win win if you ask me! This is how mine eventually turned out...

And this is what the real thing looks like, not too bad if I do say so myself!

In our goodie bags we were also given a load of samples from their new sun care range. One of which was sunblock which can be applied DURING your shower, which I think is incredible and isn't sticky, which is even more incredible. I hate the feeling of sticky sun lotion so I'm super excited to use this product - plus it has a SPF of 30! There was also a powdered sun lotion called Powdered Sunshine which can be used as a make-up setting powder and has a SPF of 15 and two other lotions called Million Dollar Moisturizer (SPF30) and Sesame Suntan Lotion (SPF10) which can both be used before make-up as a sort of primer. The Sesame Suntan Lotion smells amazing, exactly like peanut butter, for any of you PB fans out there!
As well as these, we were given a sample of the Fairtrade Foot Lotion, and FULL SIZES of Rub, Rub, Rub Shower Scrub, Sandstone Soap and Each Peach Massage Bar. I'm super excited to use all of these!

LUSH are hugely against animal testing and are always finding new and safer ways of testing their products. They do use humans for testing and even took the new sun lotion to New Jersey in America to hear their thoughts. As Zoe put it - 'If it's good enough for Jersey Shore, it's good enough for us!' Also, they've begun to use computer tech for research and testing which is way more advanced and gives very accurate results without using any real test subjects. As they are against animal testing and all for animal rights this links nicely into what is happening with our government right now. The Tory government wants to revoke the Fox Hunting ban and legalize it again. They are holding a vote about it on Thursday, I believe, and we need as many people as we can to vote against it. It is completely inhumane and cruel to these beautiful creatures.

On a final and happier note - thankyou so much to Ryan and Zoe from LUSH Basingstoke for the blogger's evening, I had so much fun looking at the new products! Also, it was so lovely to meet some fellow bloggers (whose links I will leave below). I'm very excited for the new and exciting things which are coming from teh company!
